Upgrade your product to include an innovative, modern and attractive user interface. Replacing mechanical push buttons with a touch- or gesture-controlled interface is an excellent way to add value and advanced features to your application, increase customer appeal and improve your product’s performance and reliability.
Microchip offer solutions for every type of use case, from single buttons to touchpads and touchscreens to proximity detection and 3D gesture control for a huge assortment of consumer, industrial and automotive applications. Microchip's products include turnkey capacitive touch controllers, touch libraries for implementing touch sensing on most PIC®, AVR® and SAM microcontrollers (MCUs) and single-chip solutions for adding gesture recognition to almost any product. Microchip can help you conquer design challenges like overcoming noisy environments, reducing power consumption in wearables and other power-sensitive designs, supporting functional safety requirements and implementing touch in wet environments or for gloved fingers. You can leverage Microchip's deep knowledge and extensive experience in providing touch and gesture solutions over many years, plus Microchip's global technical support team and easy-to-use development tools and resources, to simplify and speed up your development of your touch-enabled products.
Capacitive Touch Solutions for Buttons, Sliders, Wheels and Proximity
Turnkey Capacitive Touch Controllers and Microcontrollers with On-Chip Touch Peripherals
It’s time to add capacitive touch to the user interface in your next product. Microchip offer two easy-to-implement options for creating buttons, sliders and wheels or enabling proximity detection that will enhance your product’s user experience. With devices that support up to 64 buttons, Microchip's easy-to-configure turnkey touch controllers streamline the process of replacing mechanical buttons in your product. Or, you can choose one of Microchip's microcontrollers (MCUs) with dedicated Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs), which offload the touch functionality from the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to free up system resources and reduce power consumption. Like Microchip's turnkey devices, these MCUs support both mutual- and self-capacitance measurements.
Capacitive Touch Solutions for Touchpads and Touchscreens
Boost Your Product’s User Experience
Find out how easy it is to implement the user experience your customers are used to and have come to expect from their smartphones and tablets. Whether your design requires a small 1” single-touch-point trackpad or a 24” multi-touch touchscreen, Microchip's exceptionally fast and water-/noise-robust touch sensing technology enables you to quickly implement advanced gesture recognition to speed your product’s time to market. Microchip's wide portfolio of touch solutions is backed by Microchip's extensive experience in serving and supporting thousands of touch customers over many years. Microchip also have a comprehensive, trained and certified network of design partners who can provide you with extra support and assistance with your touch design.
2D/3D Touchscreens With Proximity Detection and Air Gestures
Enable Modern and Safe Human Machine Interface (HMI) Systems With Microchip's maXTouch® and GestIC® Technologies
Enhance your product with additional features beyond simple touchscreen HMI systems. You can easily add proximity detection to enable additional functions such as system wake-up or offer air gestures that allow the user to safely interact with the system without needing to touch the screen. Microchip's two-chip solution that combines controllers featuring Microchip's maXTouch touchscreen technology and GestIC technology enables you to create a totally new user experience. You can connect both controllers to the same host using the same I2C serial interface with two different slave addresses.
Both controllers are AEC-Q100 qualified with temperature ranges up to +105°C (maXTouch technology) and +125°C (GestIC technology).
