Microchip offer two easy-to-implement options for creating buttons, sliders and wheels or enabling proximity detection that will enhance your product’s user experience. With devices that support up to 64 buttons, Microchip's easy-to-configure turnkey touch controllers streamline the process of replacing mechanical buttons in your product. Or, you can choose one of Microchip's microcontrollers (MCUs) with dedicated Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs), which offload the touch functionality from the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to free up system resources and reduce power consumption. Like Microchip's turnkey devices, these MCUs support both mutual- and self-capacitance measurements.

2D/3D Touchscreens With Proximity Detection and Air Gestures

Enable Modern and Safe Human Machine Interface (HMI) Systems With Microchip's maXTouch® and GestIC® Technologies

Enhance your product with additional features beyond simple touchscreen HMI systems. You can easily add proximity detection to enable additional functions such as system wake-up or offer air gestures that allow the user to safely interact with the system without needing to touch the screen. Microchip's two-chip solution that combines controllers featuring Microchip's maXTouch touchscreen technology and GestIC technology enables you to create a totally new user experience. You can connect both controllers to the same host using the same I2C serial interface with two different slave addresses.

 

Both controllers are AEC-Q100 qualified with temperature ranges up to +105°C (maXTouch technology) and +125°C (GestIC technology).
